Ghaziabad: Taking a unique initiative for industries in the Ghaziabad region, the Ghaziabad Division of the Directorate of Factories, Uttar Pradesh, in association with Tata Steel, Sahibabad, organised a “Safety Connect” conference on 9 Sept 2026.
The conference aimed to strengthen cooperation among industries, facilitate the exchange of safety-related knowledge and experiences, and promote a stronger safety culture at workplaces.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Avneesh Singh, former Director General, DG FASLI, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, and Principal Advisor, Vision Zero Rating System, India. He elaborated on the Seven Golden Rules of Vision Zero for strengthening safety culture and shared his experience and guidance on promoting the Vision Zero Rating System in India.
Mr. Surendra Bahadur, Assistant Director, Factories, Ghaziabad, briefed the participants on the new provisions of the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSHWC) Code, 2020.
The programme was attended by Mr. Alok Kumar Singh, Deputy Director, Factories, and Mr. Surendra Bahadur and Mr. Kripanshu Gupta, Assistant Directors, Factories, Ghaziabad, among others.
Representatives and senior safety professionals from more than 15 leading industries in Ghaziabad, including Tata Steel, Indian Oil, Hindustan Petroleum, Bharat Petroleum, Bharat Electronics, Dabur, Havells, Shriram Pistons, Mohan Meakins, Punjab Bavel & Gears and EINS Technik, actively participated in the conference.
Novec Technologies presented technology-driven modern safety solutions, while , Samalkha KEL Private Limited, showcased innovative products and solutions related to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Tata Steel representatives Mr. Jatin Sabharwal, Mr. Ravi Shankar Mishra, Mr. Sunil Kumar and Mr. Akash Kumar Tiwari actively participated in the discussions and made valuable contributions to the safety-related deliberations.
The Tata Steel Sahibabad Plant team played a significant role in the successful organisation of the programme. The “Safety Connect” conference provided an effective platform for industries in the Ghaziabad region to strengthen collaboration, dialogue and the exchange of best safety practices, contributing towards the development of a proactive safety culture across workplaces.
